"If you have money make a donation. If you don’t have money to donate, that’s fine.
Donate your time.
Volunteer."
I often find response posts difficult to begin due to the lack of interest I find in other people's topics. However, there are a few individuals that I consistently check for new pieces of writing. One of them would be Joesph.
As that time of year rolls around, I find myself yet again, meandering the school accompanied with a petty, pitiful little orange box for the UNICEF organization. UNICEF is the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund. I got around being "that annoying person" that asks for donations to help provide for kids in third-world countries. I must say, the box is really heavy.I got the box from LEO Club at school, and it's part of a non-profit organization that helps the blind and empowers young people by providing leadership opportunities and community service. I've been an on-off member since I was a freshmen. I liked attending the events, but even I question if it was to help others or just because my friends went as well. I'm not going to pretend I'm the model Samaritan, but it's the only service I've been coming back to for four years. Last year I was historian which meant I HAD to go to every service event, not that I cared, but I wonder since I don't have the obligation to attend, will I still be committed to the club? I do try as much as I can to attend and help out, but sometimes it feels as though I'm not doing enough for my community.

Point being, I really do try to go out and volunteer if I can. If you think about it, the world has provided us with so much to live for, why not return the favor? There may always be someone above us in terms of success, but there is also always someone below us that could use a helping hand. They are not asking for a million dollars, sometimes all they want is your time.
Charity begins at home, but it shouldn't end there.
I don't really think there was a message in this post. I think I just secretly wanted to show-off at the fact that I raised hella money this year and I occasionally perform acts to better the community. Even though it was my job and not because I really wanted to do it. But I don't mind.
