Autonomy of the Mind

West coast villain livin' in a sunny place full of shady people. A walking contradiction. If somewhere along the lines I were to be misjudged and I were to blame someone, it would be me for not being articulate myself properly.

FP: Perfectly Inadequate

"You find a glimmer of happiness in this world, and there’s always someone who wants to destroy it."
-Finding Neverland

Let’s get one thing straight, I’m not here to please you. I look the way I do and go about doing things a certain way because that is simply the way I am, and though I’m not perfect, neither are you. For instance, I wear makeup, and sometimes I don’t. I CHOOSE to because over time I developed a liking to it, but to be honest, I've also used it as a scapegoat to cover my insecurities.
However, despite the increasing need to shield my flaws, I am in no way trying to compete with anyone else. I don’t dress to impress you. My bad I’m not always looking up to par with other girls. But honestly, I couldn’t give two shits. I didn’t realize being cotton and comfortable was a crime. I’m not going to get “dolled-up” to see someone for like 10 minutes or to go to grocery shopping. Sorry to disturb the flow of your assemble line of conformity. Fuck yeah dressing up is fun, but cut me some slack when I don’t always look as marvelous as the sunshine coming out your ass. Being a female is tough enough with menstrual cycles and child labor without men trying to dictate what girls “should be like”.
What I also don't understand is why there's so many people out there that have nothing better to do than to try to bring others down. It's difficult to comprehend why there are individuals that possess exuberant levels of animosity towards people they don't even know. Nowadays, people are so quick to judge and assume based off rumors or first impressions. What you hear doesn't compensate for actually knowing a person. Especially with other females in our society, everything feels like a competition for attention. It's hard to keep up with the demanding codes of these cultural expectations.
Whatever, just another rant about society.
